THEM AGAIN? AND AGAIN?  WARRIORS- CAVALIERS

Is Warriors vs. Cavs the best NBA Finals matchup of all time?

Hej vänner

Krig existerar inte, mat behövs inte och vatten har vi inget behov av. Vi har slutat att jobba, älska, andas, sova och vara dumma mot varan. Vet Ni Varför??? ... just because i'm the soul whos intentions are good   &   ... because of NBA Finals.

The Cleveland Cavaliers against the Golden State Warriors is the NBA Finals rematch we've been waiting nearly 12 months to see. It will be the first time in NBA history the same two teams have met in three consecutive Finals.

So, for the third straight season, the Warriors and the Cavaliers are facing off in the NBA finals.
Though many saw this matchup as inevitable, it’s a historical anomaly. While there have been dynasties before in the N.B.A., it’s rare for two of them to line up so closely. The finals have never before matched the same teams three years in a row. Injuries, aging, loss of form and sheer randomness always seemed to get in the way.
Even in the dominant Celtics-Lakers eras, the same teams never met in the finals three times in a row. The Celtics reached 10 straight finals in the ’50s and ’60s (winning nine of them). Nine of those were against the St. Louis Hawks or the Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers. But never three consecutively.
The Lakers or the Celtics were in every finals of the ’80s. But the 76ers, the Rockets or the Pistons always jumped in to prevent their pairing three times in a row.

Indeed, the triple rematch is a rarity in any team sport.
      Timeline:
      1947 -
In the Basketball Association of America (BAA), the Philadelphia Warriors beat the Chicago Stags in the first finals, four games to one.

August 1949 - National Basketball League (NBL) teams join the BAA, to become the National Basketball Association (NBA).
April 23, 1950 - In the first official NBA Finals, the Minneapolis Lakers beat the Syracuse Nationals, four games to two.

1956 - Bob Pettit with the St. Louis Hawks becomes the NBA's first MVP, but Philadelphia Warriors beat the Ft. Wayne Pistons, four games to one.

1959-1966 - Boston wins the NBA Finals Championship for eight consecutive years.

1993 - The Chicago Bulls are the first team to win a "three-peat," or three consecutive championships, since the Celtics in the 1960s.

June 5, 2014 - In Game 1 of the Finals in San Antonio between the Spurs and the Miami Heat, an electrical failure in the arena causes the air conditioning to fail, and the indoor temperature reaches above 90 degrees. The Spurs go on to beat the Heat, four games to one.
June 1, 2017 - Finals scheduled to begin - Game 1 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors
